"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion, or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up you'd better be running." Author Unknown

Its not how many times you fall....

But how many times you get back up!

Yes, I have been absent for a while. I fell off the wagon...

I won't give you any excuses, though I have many, and just tell you that today was a new day.

I got in 3.4 miles this morning... and it felt fantastic!! I have also eaten clean all day and drinking my water like a fish.

I have decided to do a 90 day challenge. Nothing fancy... basically its my own craziness that I am challenging myself to do. I will ....

  • Walk/run for 1 hour everyday
  • drink AT LEAST 64 oz of water every day
  • stick to my Paleo diet (clean eating)

There is also a list of 'others'. For example, for the next 90 days I will....

  • take my multivitamins
  • do my daily bible study
  • keep the TV off a little longer everyday
So, there is a lot to work on everyday. I'm excited to say that Day 1 has gone by without a hitch and I am looking forward to 89 more :)

Happy New Year

Yesterday was a great end to 2013. I ran 3 miles, drank all my water and ate fairly good :)

Today is my rest day, which I am so thankful for as I was up late with the rest of the world and couldn't sleep in this morning. I am exhausted.

I know that today starts everyones resolutions... and I would like to remind everyone to keep it within reach! I know, big is better... but small is achievable!! Don't say you'll run 5 miles a week if you don't even run 1 mile a week now! Start with trying to run 1 mile a week... and by the end of the year you can say you reached your goal and most likely exceeded it!!!

My resolution?.... to be a better me, every day. :)

W1, D3

Run: 2 miles at a 15/m pace

Food: Much better then yesterday. Still need to make my portions smaller, but at least its all healthy.

Water: I bought two 32oz water bottles. The goal is to fill them up and have them in the fridge and drink them all before the end of the day. I'm half way through the second one and still have time to finish it!

I know my entries are short, sweet, and to the point but I'm afraid during the week that is all I have time to write. I will write a more thorough blog post on my weigh in days :)

Taking the first steps.

I know myself better then to think that I will wake up tomorrow morning and workout, eat perfect and drink all my water. Nope... won't happen.

I have to do this in steps. One little one at a time. So, today I didn't eat perfectly... but I did do a little better. I also went for a walk... a cold and snowy walk... with the family. I tried to drink more water and  figured out what my final physical goal will be!!

I am going to do the Tough Mudder!! I know... CrAzY... but I'm really excited. My hubby has agreed to do it with me, which gives him some motivation to work out, too. Its a win, win. I have two options. We can do the one in Colorado in September which gives me 9 months to train... or I can do the one in Arizona in April which pushes it to 4 months.

I'm not sure which one we will do... but either way, it is a good motivation to get moving.

I completely forgot to get my weight and measurements this morning, so I will get those tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow... I will work on my food journaling and getting in a run!
